The specialty in General Surgery aims at training specialists with theoretical, scientific and professional knowledge in the field of pathophysiology, diagnostics and general surgery. During the course, resident students will practice in surgical wards included in the training network and will practice on inanimate and virtual models in surgical simulation laboratories and in hospital wards. It’s also possible for residents students to perform a period of attendance at international centres. At the end of the course resident students/physicians will be familiar with traditional surgery and minimal invasive surgery for benign and malignant diseases and transplantology related. They will be able to perform elective and in urgency procedures and to manage patients in pre- and postoperative phase. Resident students will be taught how to conduct a clinical research and will be directly involved in clinical trials so that they can learn practical bases of the scientific method as well as develop an autonomous critical attitude to the medical literature.
