The specialty in Audiology and Phoniatrics aims at training specialists with specific professional knowledge according to the international standards related to this specialty.
The residency programme includes theoretical, scientific and professional knowledge in the field of pathophysiology, medical treatment and therapy of the auditory and vestibular system and its pathophysiology, medical treatment and therapy of dysphagia and of auditory communication. Specific field of interest are: pathophysiology of the auditory system and of the auditory communication, functional and technical semeiotics concerning audiology and phoniatrics, clinical methodology and medical and surgical treatment applied to audiology and phoniatrics, rehabilitation, including the prescription of hearing aids, regarding pathologies related to communication disorders. Specialists will also learn how to positively interact with other healthcare professionals and how to be constantly updated.
